Temovate
Temovate (generic name: Clobetasol) is a corticosteroid that treats swelling, redness and itching. It is used for various scalp conditions. This drug may also be used for certain skin conditions.
Apply a small amount and gently rub into the affected area. Generally Temovate is used in the morning and at night. Follow all instructions carefully and do not use this product more often or longer than prescribed; an increase in side effects could occur. The usual recommended treatment period is two weeks. Do not bandage, wrap or cover the area treated unless you are instructed to do so by your doctor. You should notice improvement within one week.
Tell your doctor your medical history, including: any allergies, scalp/skin infections. Do not get this medicine in your eye. If you do, flush it immediately with a large amount of water. Though very unlikely, it is possible this medication will be absorbed into your bloodstream. This may have undesirable consequences that may require additional corticosteroid treatment. This is especially true for children and for those who have used this for an extended period of time and if they also have serious medical problems such as serious infections, injuries or surgeries. This precaution applies for up to one year after stopping use of this drug.
Temovate side effects
Burning, stinging or a form of acne might occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor. Unlikely but report promptly: rash, itching. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
